Sat. Jan. 11th, 2003 --- SME support is in demand - support of small and medium companies is here in best hands. Recently, the Managing Partners founded the "ExportUNIon", soon to be followed by a Technological Institute in India --- Dieter and Achim Schulz of Messrs DIAMANT will assist SMEs with exports --- By Andreas Cueppers: Achim Schulz does not rely too much on statements from Berlin. The 59years old Schulz cannot believe Minister of Economy Wolfgang Clement's statement to give priorities to SMEs. He trusts more in own initiatives. "We must do it" is the headline for the Press Conference of the Giesenkirchen based company DIAMANT. The entrepreneur wants to help his partners by means of the "ExportUNIon". Achim Schulz who manages the family company of 1886 together with his cousin Dieter now in the 5th generation, explains "Germany's economy is driven by exports and many a small company would like to export globally, yet is not in the position to do so." Problems with language, personnell or missing knowledge are the main reasons hindering small and medium companies to participate in the lucrative export markets. "Therefore, we are doing all this for other companies against commission when successful," explains Schulz. In the 3 weeks after opening ExportUNIon, 7 companies from the region have already joined. Good business for DIAMANT: "When I bring my local end users to foreign countries, I will have immediate end users there," is Schulz' opinion. A successful symbiosis as the partners will profit from the contacts of DIAMANT. The company has representatives in 52 countries all over the world specializing in reppair products for the metal working industries. In several countries the Managing Partners have own Joint Venture companies such as in the former Jugoslave Rep, Hungary, Roumania and Bulgaria. SME-entrepreneur Schulz says "Most larger companies export to EU countries and it is a flagrancy how much export business is lost e.g. in Far East countries." Schulz is concentrating on Indian markets "This will bnecome a future market at its best!" --- Inauguration in Bangalore: and the 59year old businessman starts by own power as his entrepreneurial spirit cannot wait for initiatives by the Federal Government. The "Indo German Institute of Technologies" (IGIT) will be inaugurated early March in Bangalore. Basics were laid approximately 2 years ago with the assistance through German Development Co. DEG and the Technological University of Bangalore VTU. The Giesenkirchen based company will further function as initiators and coordinators. "IGIT will become a coordinating body, " Schulz hopes, "a place where DIAMANT and partners can present their products and establish future contacts." Also here Schulz is driven by ideas for SMEs and offers the Institute as a platform for the East-Asiatic economy zones where "Made in Germany" is still an important argument. --- DIAMANT is offering a joint travel for entrepreneurs to Bangalore for 28.02. through 09.03.. Beneath others there will be the official inauguration of the "Indo German Institute of Technologies" (IGIT). Get more information under phone No. 0211-98360 or by internet under http://diamant.ph)
