3 new diamaonds for Diamant: the officers Sandra Pinter, Bernd deitz and Carsten Kunde in discussion with Mike Offermanns, Stadt-Spiegel reporter
Giesenkirchen based company Diamant Metallplastic GmbH introduces 3 new officers: what do they have to offer and how has the medium emntrepreneurship changed?
- By Mike Offermanns -

Giesenkirchen.
A his age of 64 Achim Schulz has some more irons in the fire and the Diamant CEO has set the course for a successful future: the next generation is getting more responsibilities with Carsten Kunde, Sandra Pinter an Bernd Weitz. "Searching for a follower in a family-owned company is often difficult because everything has to fit by 100%", explains Schulz who introduced the 3 new officers last week to the Stadt-Spiegel exclusively. The company which has specialized in market niches for metal coatings will remain family-managed by Sandra Pinter. The CEO's daughter manages mainly the internal affairs of the company.
Taking over nowadays responsibility in a medium sized enterprise requires above all: a great portion of enthusiasm, time, patience but also the ability for endurance and kind of a power to suffer. "The catalogue of requirements is growing constantly", confirms Sandra Pinter. Especially in the area of "chemistry" there are more and more instructions, regulations and directions. "It is hard to believe what has to be observed nowadays", says the studied lawyer. Just these things have hiked transportation costs in the past years enormously. Meanwhile costs for transportation make a third of the total costs.
But that is not the only thing having changed in the past years. Also small medium enterprises have to think globally. Diamant achieves already now 60 percent of its turnover abroad. Booming markets are Asia with India, China and Korea and also the business in America is rising again. No wonder that Carsten Kunde has to have two attributes when working for Diamant: a mind to travel and fluent in languages.
When Kunde was invited for the first interview three years ago, the first question he had to answer was: "Do you like travelling?" He agreed and thus he travelled two years ago the world in 80 days. Excellent knowledge of the English language is a must not only for employees travelling abroad but also back home in Giesenkirchen for the establishment of export documents for which Diamant is just searching for more personnel. Diamant remains associated with the homeland despite globalisation and internationalisation of the markets - and sets signals. The neighbouring house was bought early this year. "We have doubled and that is good as all signs are directing to growth," explains Schulz who looks forward to the future already now. Now, that the company has three new officers, the CEO can concentrate on his hobby: rersearching new product formulations. The end of formulating has not yet been reached with presently over 2,500 products "There will be comings ome more", says the Diamant-CEO.
